I was born and brought up in an orthodox family where people used to think that the only best way to make money and live a secure life was by grabbing a government job.

So, here’s what the chain would like:

Go to school → Study hard → Finish graduation → Get a high-paying job.

And if anyone wanted to aim high, then they were advised to become doctors or lawyers.

Back then, little did I know that I was being programmed to:
• Sacrifice my freedom
• Limit my earning potential
• Get comfortable in the same routine

So, when covid hit I started looking for ways to make money online.

Here are some of the businesses that I tried and failed massively:
• Typing
• Stock market
• Captcha writing
• Instagram thrift store
• Designing and launching annual journals

And after losing more than $5000 of my mom’s money.
I had no capital left.

The only option was to continue becoming a part of the societal chain or breakthrough by putting in the effort.

I chose the latter.

Here’s what I found after researching for 50+ hours:

I read multiple blogs titled:
How to make money online without any investment.
15 ways to make money online from your home

Each one of them made it sound so simple that I knew there was a catch.

I started reading books and listening to podcasts of several successful individuals and that’s when I saw a common pattern between all of them.

I discovered that there are only 2 ways to make money online:

This is by far the best way to make tons of money while doing what you love and here’s what you can do:

1. Freelancing:
   
   A lot of companies use freelancers to outsource their tasks instead of hiring in-house employees because that’s cost-efficient.
   
   And you know what, almost any skill:
   • Coding
   • Bookkeeping
   • Graphic Designing
   • Social Media Marketing, etc …
   
   Can be turned into a freelance opportunity.
   
   Here’s how to get started:
   
   a. Sign up for freelancing platforms like Fiverr and Upwork
   
   Pros: You have immediate access to a huge client database
   
   Cons: You are treated as a commodity and compared based on pricing (most of the time)
   
   b. Pick up 1-2 platforms and start creating content around your expertise.
   
   Pros: You can attract like-minded people and build a high-leverage network that brings you clients on autopilot.
   
   Cons: It takes time.
   

2. Creating digital products:
   
   This is one of the best scalable business models and the profit margin is also very high.
   
   All you need to do is create it once and sell as many units as you want.
   
   Here’s how to get started:

   
   Package your learning into:
   • Ebook
   • Templates
   • Video Course
   
   Pros: This is scalable.
   
   Cons: You need a huge amount of traffic to make this work.
   
   Now, there are 2 ways by which you can generate traffic:
   
   1. Organic content: 
   You create content related to your product and expertise on platforms like:
   Instagram
   YouTube
   LinkedIn
   X
   
   And encourage your audience to click the link in your bio.
   
   Let’s do some quick math here:
   We are going to sell a $150 product
   
   How many sales do you need to build a 6 figure business?
   667 sales
   
   That means, on average we need 2 sales/ day.
   Assuming that your website has a 2% conversion rate.
   
   All you need to do is find a way to make 100 people click the link in your bio or buy your product through emails.
   
   I know it sounds simple
   But it isn’t.
   
   Though, it’s not impossible too.
   You just have to put in the effort and have patience.
   
   2. Paid traffic:
   You buy attention and eyeballs on your profile.
   It could be through:
   • ADs
   • Newsletter sponsorships, etc.
   

   This is something that I haven’t yet tried for my business, so I don’t have proper data to guide you.
   
   But, I’m expecting to have one very soon.
   

3. Become an online coach:
   
   It’s similar to freelancing but the only difference is, here you don’t do it for them.
   
   Instead, provide them guidance in their journey and share your systems and strategies.
   
   All you need is zoom/ google meet, wifi and a doc where you have jotted down your methods step by step breakdowns.
   
   Now, how to get clients?
   Reach out to all your friends and families who you think could be benefitted from your expertise and are looking to reach where you are.
   
   Help 1-2 people for free and stack some case studies or testimonials.
   
   Then, leverage them to acquire paid clients.
   

4. Affiliate Marketing:
   
   This is where you sell your marketing and sales skills.
   
   Building a product or coaching program isn’t eveyone’s cup of tea.
   So, the next best thing that you can do is help others sell their product.
   
   But how?
   Educate yourself about how to generate traffic
   Build a landing page to promote the product.
   
   And you’re good to go.
   
   Though, you must be wondering how much can you make out of this?
   
   Then, here’s your answer:
   Majority of companies and creators offer commissions ranging from 30-50% per sale.
   
   So, there’s no upisde limit as to how much you can make.
   It depends on you.
   
   The only advise that I can give you is:
   Only promote those products that you are confident about.

Sell your time:

Are you someone who is still in college and is working on developing their skills?

Then this is what you can do to make money online, all you need is an internet connection and some free time.

5. Virtual Assistant:

With the emergence of thousands of entrepreneurs there is high demand of virtual assistants .

Why?
Because successful people value their time and don’t prefer wasting it on the same monotonous administrative job that doen’t move the needle in their business.

So, create a list of 100 entrepreneurs and start pitching them or you can also find jobs on Fiverr and Upwork.

Pros: Get paid anywhere ranging from $10-60/hr

Cons: This isn’t scalable and your earning potential is limited.

6. Data entry/ Typing jobs:

You are paid to add data in excel or client servers.

I have tried doing it in past but it didn’t work for me.
Though, there are several people who claim that it worked for them.

So, I would advise you to give this a shot.

You can find jobs related to this on Fiverr and Upwork.

Pros: Low stress

Cons: There are several fraudulent websites out there who hardly pays you. So, before you put in the efforts make sure to do your share of research.

These are the 6 best ways to make money online though there are some more of them that are worth giving a shot which includes the following:

• Ecommerce
• Dropshipping
• Saas

Though, each one of them requires some investment upfront.
Don’t get fooled by people who say you otherwise.
